For those of you who use
http://housecall.trendmicro.com, you may have noticed that it is detecting malware.BKDR_IRCFLOOD.X each time you scan, claiming to clean it from your memory as well.
To cut a long story short, here are some info URL's:
Info about the REAL VIRUS
http://es.trendmicro-europe.com/enterpr ... IRCFLOOD.X
Mirc forum thread discussing the virus, and the large number of infections suddenly reported:
http://trout.snt.utwente.nl/ubbthreads/ ... art=1&vc=1
Basically, it seems that there is an infection out there. But Trendmicro is detecting it on EVERYONE (Or most) who uses mirc. It claims to clean your system of the virus, but when you restart mirc.. suddenly you have it again.
I suggest the following:
1) Scan your computer with Trendmicro. (
http://housecall.trendmicro.com)
2) If malware.Bkdr_Ircflood.X is detected, clean it.
3) After a reboot and following instructions carefully, scan again.
4) If Trendmicro continues to detect 'malware.Bkdr_Ircflood.X' use 2-3 other programs to scan your computer
5) If they find nothing,
you're probably not infected!
6) If they do find something, clean your machine with those programs, reboot and rescan with those programs.

I will keep this thread updated with any new info that is released. You can also check
